Drama, das in den USA einer der größten Serienerfolge im Fernsehen ist.

Obwohl die Serie von Taylor Sheridan („Hell or High Water“) beim Minisender Paramount läuft, schauen bis zu 8 Millionen Fans zu.

Das liegt auch an Star Kevin Costner, der als Montana-Rancher John Dutton beweist, dass keinem der Cowboyhut so gut wie ihm passt. Der als Familiendrama verpackte Western zeigt, wie Dutton und seine rechte Hand (Cole Hauser) das Land am Rand des Yellowstone-Nationalparks mit allen Mitteln gegen Spekulanten und die Ansprüche der Ureinwohner verteidigen. Manchmal wirkt das zwar wie „Dallas“ oder „Sons of Anarchy“ mit Pferden, doch mit jeder weiteren Folge entwickelt die episch gefilmte Serie eine größere Sogwirkung.
