Die Anime-Serie „Blood+“ basiert auf der Serie „Blood – the last Vampire“ und spielt einige Jahrzehnte später in der japanischen Stadt Okinawa. Die Highschool-Schülerin Saya Otonashi hat aufgrund einer Amnesie keinerlei Erinnerungen an Ereignisse, die länger als ein Jahr zurückliegen. Ein großes Unglück lässt eines Abends ihre bis dahin relativ heile Welt zerbrechen. Fortan muss sie sich ihrer Mission stellen und versuchen, die verschollenen Erinnerungen zurückzuerlangen.
